Take a Hike! Best Hiking Trails in Seattle, WA

It’s finally that glorious time of year in the great Pacific Northwest when the sun starts to shine and the rain slowly begins to ease. Hello, Spring! As the weather clears up, now is the perfect opportunity to get outdoors and explore some of the best hiking trails near Seattle. Cooper Apartments is surrounded by dozens of beautiful walking trails and hikes, so today we are highlighting those that are most well-known and loved by the Seattle community. Grab your hiking boots and camera, it’s time to hit the trails!

Discovery Park Loop Trail

For those who love a brief day hike with beautiful views while on your lunch break, the Discovery Park Loop Trail is the perfect option. At just under 3 miles roundtrip, the loop is part of an 11-mile network of trails. So if you’re in the mood for a  longer adventure, Discovery Park has that to offer as well! Known to be a more tranquil Seattle hike, those who have walked the short distance loop before appreciate the views overlooking the Puget Sound, the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges, and if you find the right high point, the Seattle skyline. If you’re new to the Pacific Northwest, this renowned trail is a must-visit.

Mount Si

This trailhead is just under an hour away from Cooper Apartments, but is undoubtedly worth the drive. Stretching a total of 8 miles roundtrip, the Mount Si hike is a classic outdoor adventure near Seattle. While it is extremely popular amongst those in the area and even those visiting the Pacific Northwest, this is a more advanced trail than the Discovery Park Loop. Located in the Snoqualmie region, Mount Si does require a Discover Pass. In the first four miles of the trail, hikers can expect to climb over 3,000 feet of elevation. If you’re hiking on a clear Spring day, just about halfway through the hike you’ll earn beautiful views of Mount Rainier. In a Google review left by Jitendra K. roughly a month ago (February 2021) they said, “...If you really want to see a 360 view of Seattle, this is a must-hike.” But don't take our word for it, this is one you’ll have to see to believe!

Lake Serene + Bridal Veil Falls

If you are someone who loves hiking to a destination, like a waterfall or stunning lake view, the Lake Serene and Bridal Veil Falls hike is worth every minute of the 1-hour drive to get there. In a little less than three miles, the Bridal Veil Falls hike provides hikers with jaw-dropping waterfall views. As you continue onward, you’ll find yourself at Lake Serene. Fitting to the name, Lake Serene is a calming halfway point with rocky mountain slopes and beautiful evergreen trees surrounding you and the lake on all sides. Talk about the perfect spot for a weekend lunch!

As we cheerfully welcome Spring to the evergreen state, be sure to keep these hikes near Seattle in mind!
